Fair Isle Graphic Knit Hat
Fair Isle Graphic Knit Hat

The Graphic Knit Fair Isle Toque is a really beautiful example of colour work. I did an alteration for the colouring in this hat.

I used 1 braid of Olive Oil in Caron x Pantone yarn. I didn't use the lightest colour of that braid. I used black from a solid color Caron x Patone yarn. This is a mix of merino, nylon and acrylic yarn. It feels exquisite. It's quite warm to wear. Love loves it and he usually doesn't love what I make like this.

I adored making this hat!

Salti is sticking his tongue out at me. I think he wants something next!

New Concept for Mikey

A new concept for Mikey was doing two handed two color work that helped with the tension control. I filmed a tutorial on this. It totally speeds you up and also I found the floaters were at the right tension. It made a huge difference.

I discovered a fantastic way to get the folded brim of a knit hat to lay flat and the fold doesn't need to be "futzed with" at all, while being worn! Check it out on this YT channel and give the hat a try, yourself! (It's a great pattern, easy to follow and comes out so nice!) You might want to see if she'd let you share her pattern and uniquely folded brim! Here's the link to her video. It will start just as she's ready to create the FOLD in the brim. But do check out the entire video, it's such a pretty pattern! Once you've given it a try, you'll never go back to a brim that wanders & rolls up/down!
